Hi everyone! I’m super excited for this years round of Dare to DIY! I participated last year and had such a blast! Today starts the first of 4 weeks of DIY projects and today’s theme is Being Thankful. I personally cannot wait for Thanksgiving to get here but I’m going to be honest, I’m more excited for the Friday after than I am for Thanksgiving itself. Why you ask? Black Friday is the day I put out all my Christmas decorations and for whatever reason I have been itching to get it all out! But enough about decking the halls, it’s still time to be thankful and this year I’ve made a sweet little banner that I’ve displayed in my living room. It’s a great reminder everyday to give thanks for what I have.
This banner was super easy to make. I used my favorite program Print Shop to print the letters (the font I used is Emerald Isle, on card stock) and then cut the shape out.
Then I used the same shape, slightly bigger and traced it on some crazy wrinkled burlap!
Cut and ironed each piece and then hot glued the letters on. Next I flipped them and added a line of hot glue and placed my string across!
I love how it turned out and I’ll probably take it to my parent’s house for our big Thanksgiving feast on Thursday!
Now head on over to Primitive & Proper to check out some more great thankful projects!
Cute! I love the font you used!!
Such a cute project! I love the burlap background and flag shape.
Thanks Kim!
Super cute! I like how the letters look 3D from the drop shadow you used
Umm I love you for noticing that! I am way too OCD when it comes to my fonts!
So cute! I love the font also, what is the name of it?
Oops, just saw the font name!
Adorable! The font is perfection. How have I never been to your blog? I mean after all of this Instagram stalking. I’m adding you to my feedly now!
Thanks Michelle and woohoo for feedly!!
Love this! I may have to make one next year, since I’ve already put up all my Christmas decorations this year
Thanks so much! And honestly, it’s really not anyones fault for your Christmas decorations being up other than the calendar because last year at this time Thanksgiving already happened! HAHA
That turned out so cute! Hope you had a great thanksgiving!
Thanks Kelly! Same to you!!
