It’s time to deck the halls! Today is the last installment of the Dare to DIY series and I have had a ton of fun participating. Not to mention it totally lit that fire to get all my projects done! Today I’m bringing you a project that I wanted to do last year but didn’t have the space for. Now that I’ve got Miss Kelly it gave me the perfect opportunity to do it!
I had a lot of fun doing this project because I had 3 letters to work with and I knew I wanted them to all look different. The O was a wreath I purchased at Michael’s for $3.99 and I simply just added lights to it. I didn’t want to add anything more because I felt it would look too busy. The letters were all bought at Joann’s.
For the letter N, I painted it an ivory color and then used a stamp pad and makeup sponge to make it look worn. I dabbed the sponge in the pad and then smeared it all around the letter.
For the E, I simply brushed on a layer of glue and then sprinkled on some gold glitter. I mean Christmas decor really isn’t decor if there isn’t glitter involved!
Lastly, for the L (which by the way was a J that I had to cut…they were out of L’s) I used gold scrap paper that I had left over from this project.
After all that I just lined them up and BAM – Holiday decor at it’s best!
Here’s some more shots of how I decorated Miss Kelly.
Thanks to Decor and the Dog, Maybe Matilda, Two Twenty One and Newly Woodwards for putting this party together! Make sure you guys check out their blogs for more ideas on how to deck your halls!
Wow! This is beautiful! I love that all the letters are a touch different but still coordinate. I have a huge W letter than has been sitting in my bedroom for a year. I really need to do something with it. I’m thinking I am feeling inspired by how you did the “N.”
Thanks for linking up to Dare to DIY!
A unique way to incorporate a wreath as an O – great thinking outside of the “circle”! I also have a lone reindeer that I tried to repair one of his broken racks so I packed him back up. I might could camouflage the break with the sprinkling with sparkles. Thanks for sharing your lovely decor ideas!

Super cute! I love that you used a wreath for the “O”…so pretty!!
Lovely! It looks so beautiful all lit up.
Thanks…I get more excited lighting the wreath than I do the Christmas tree!! HA
Gorgeous! I love all the variety and texture. And the wreath as the ‘o’ is so fun! Great job, you have such lovely style! Thanks for sharing at Dare to DIY!
This is absolute perfection! I’m totally going to copy this next year
This is lovely! I like the mix of all the mediums/materials!
Thanks…I tried to add as many different textures and colors as possible but still try to keep it in the same family!
